How I Found A Life Long Friend on Instagram

Now, before I start this post, I just want to remind everyone to ALWAYS be careful when meeting someone from online.

For those of you that follow my Instagram, I’m sure you’ve seen a few of my posts with the adorable, Kassidy_owen. I met this sweet girl when I noticed she had posted something pertaining to cancer. I, myself, am a cancer survivor of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and I instantly was enthralled in learning more about her own journey through cancer. She was the sibling of someone with cancer and her posts really made me think about how my loved ones, friends, and my own brother felt when I was going through treatment. We instantly began talking about not only cancer, but all things blogging, fashion, and daily life. Not everyone gets the chance to meet the person they have connected with online, but by fate, Kassidy was coming to Naples just 30 minutes away from my hometown! We met the day after she flew in and had a shoot for our blogs, and instantly connected. We had so much fun taking pictures, laughing, and learning more about each other.

The moral of this story is to always feel brave enough to share your own battles and experiences. You could just make a friend out of it.

Attached are some pictures from our shoot that was so much fun!

God Bless America… and Fashion

It’s almost the 4th of July so that means it’s time for all things red, white, and blue. Of course, this needs to be done in style, too. I am sharing some of my favorite picks for the 4th to keep you festive and comfortable!

To start, this shoe from Target is perfect for not only the 4th of July, but can be worn any other time of the year as well! I prefer the shoe in the color red.
